Experential Event Activation: GOLFTV CHallenge Japan Skins

The GOLFTV Challenge Japan Skins event represented a prestigious skins game, featuring a quartet of the globe's premier golfers in a live competition before an international audience in Japan. The event's format was elegantly simple, with competitors striving to achieve the lowest score on each hole to claim its assigned monetary prize. In instances where scores were tied, the prize money was transferred to the subsequent hole, culminating in the crowning of the player who accumulated the greatest total value as the victor.

Significantly, Discovery was granted an underwriting fee of $4.25 million for orchestrating this event. Consequently, the initial $4.25 million generated from sponsorships and advertising revenues was allocated exclusively to Discovery, underscoring the financial success and strategic partnership leveraged in this high-caliber sporting event.

Custom video stream slates were designed for the video editing team, intended for use in enhancing live stream broadcasts.

Social media assets were created before and throughout the live-stream event. For instance, the Scorecard post was prepared in advance and then updated in real-time to reflect the conclusions of each segment.

 

Event swag played a major role in the overall experience, offering fans a diverse selection of promotional items for purchase. These items, ranging from printed posters and pin flags to embroidered hats, formed a distinctive collection of event memorabilia. Furthermore, the branding was meticulously incorporated into various aspects of the event: caddies wore event-branded caddy bibs, and hosts used specially designed microphones for interviews, ensuring the event's branding was prominently and consistently showcased throughout.
